I bought some homeopathic meds for the fox' mange, since I am unable to
get Ivermectin. Now, the problem is how to get them to take it.
Someone had suggested hot dogs and that is what I tried yesterday and
today - not eating hot dogs. I have never put food out for them -
perhaps they are leary of this feeble attempt to bring their health
around.

Would strawberries be more tempting? I am taking anything uneaten in
at night so I don't attract unwanted visitors. I see the fox around my
house during in the day.

A couple of options. Honey sandwiches apparently are popular (really).
You can also add some drops to a water bowl. Not the most effective
treatment but no problem with leaving it out all night.

Good luck! Once they get the hang of food being around, it'll get
easier.

I've had great luck tempting them with just about anything. I've never
had northern fruit (apples, strawberries, etc.) refused when I've left
them where I know foxes tread. They like dry dog biscuits. They like
canned cat food, but they're not fond of the seafood varieties. I used
cat food because it comes in smaller cans-- I just wanted to give them a
snack, I didn't want them to learn to depend on it. They didn't seem
fond of grapes, but I later learned that grapes in any form (raisons,
wine, etc.) aren't very good for them, or for the family dog, anyway.

There was a family of foxes that I was trying to tempt out for photo
sessions. The first can of cat food I'd put out got full of maggots
before someone found it and ate it. But once they figured out that food
appeared in that area every day, I've found them zig-zagging around
before I even got there.
