I am majorly depressed now! I finally see my fourth fox in my life and it had to
be lying forever still by the side of the road! I got a good look and saw no
violent wounds plus it looked as if it had keeled over with it's legs stretched
outward so it must have been clipped by a passing vehicle.

I've seen plenty of roadkill in my day from squirrels to deer but seeing the fox
grabbed my attention and left me sad ever since.

Bummer.

Sorry to hear that. Roads are a major wildlife killer here too.

Skytech,
Most of the road kill foxes I've seen are younger foxes--probably
out on their own, and not aware of the danger of passing vehicles. I
think once a red has a close call with a vehicle they will avoid the
danger, but being blinded by bright headlights is always a concern.

Okay, what is it lately I'm subjected to fox sighting in the form of roadkill?!
Darn it again I was driving and there was a fairly entact vulpine on the side of
the highway. I need a live critter to view as in the old days.
